Description

tert-Butyl ethyl ether is used as an oxygenate gasoline additive oxygenate during its production from crude oil. It is used as an extractant in human urine by using single-walled carbon nanotubes as an adsorbent. It plays an important role as a fuel component in petrol to enhance its octane rating.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.

Applications
L’éther éthylique de tert-butyle est utilisé comme additif oxygéné de l’essence pendant sa production à partir de pétrole brut. Il est utilisé comme agent extractif dans l’urine humaine en utilisant des nanotubes de carbone à paroi unique comme adsorbant. Il joue un rôle important en tant que composant de carburant dans l’essence afin d’améliorer son indice d’octane.

Solubilité
Miscible à l’alcool, et l’éther éthylique. Légèrement miscible avec de l’eau.

Remarques
Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts, le néoprène, le n-butyle et l’uréthane. Il peut réagir avec l’air pour former des peroxydes.
