Description
tert-Butyl ethyl ether is used as an oxygenate gasoline additive oxygenate during its production from crude oil. It is used as an extractant in human urine by using single-walled carbon nanotubes as an adsorbent. It plays an important role as a fuel component in petrol to enhance its octane rating.

ApplicationsL’éther éthylique de tert-butyle est utilisé comme additif oxygéné de l’essence pendant sa production à partir de pétrole brut. Il est utilisé comme agent extractif dans l’urine humaine en utilisant des nanotubes de carbone à paroi unique comme adsorbant. Il joue un rôle important en tant que composant de carburant dans l’essence afin d’améliorer son indice d’octane.
Solubilité
Miscible à l’alcool, et l’éther éthylique. Légèrement miscible avec de l’eau.
Remarques
Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts, le néoprène, le n-butyle et l’uréthane. Il peut réagir avec l’air pour former des peroxydes.
