(R)-(-)-Mandelic acid, is used as a antiseptic ingredient particularly against urinary tract infections.Mandelic acid and its derivatives are used to apply the dual activities as an antibacterial agent and as an antiaging agent. It is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of target molecules for other applications.

Applications
L’acide (R)-(-)-mandélique est utilisé comme composant antiseptique, en particulier contre les infections des voies urinaires. L’acide mandélique et ses dérivés sont utilisés pour leurs doubles propriétés, en tant qu’agent antibactérien et qu’agent antivieillissement. Il est utilisé comme intermédiaire pour la synthèse de molécules cibles destinées à d’autres applications.

Solubilité
Il est partiellement soluble dans l’eau, librement soluble dans l’alcool isopropylique et l’alcool éthylique.
