Syringic acid is used as an inhibitor of poly(ethylene glycol) oxidation. It is used for the preparation of poly(1,4-phenylene oxide). It is added as an additive in wine and vinegar.

Applications
L’acide syringique est utilisé comme inhibiteur de l’oxydation du poly(éthylène glycol). Il sert à la préparation du poly(1,4-oxyde de phénylène). Il est utilisé comme additif dans le vin et le vinaigre.

Solubilité
Soluble dans le méthanol (50 mg/ml), l’eau (5,78 mg/ml à 25°C), le chloroforme: méthanol (1:1), l’alcool éthylique et le DMF.

Remarques
