Description
Neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic and calcium channel protein inhibitor. Neomycin sulfate also binds to prokaryotic ribosomes inhibiting translation and is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Neomycin sulfate inhibits Phospholipase C via binding to inositol phospholipids. It also inhibits phosphatidylcholine-PLD activity and induces Ca2+ mobilization and PLA2 activation in human platelets. Neomycin sulfate inhibits DNase I induced DNA degradation.

Le sulfate de néomycine est un antibiotique aminoglycoside et un inhibiteur protéique du canal calcique. Le sulfate de néomycine se lie également aux ribosomes procaryotes inhibant la translation et est efficace contre les bactéries à Gram positif et Gram négatif. Le sulfate de néomycine inhibe la phospholipase C en se liant aux phospholipides d’inositol. Il inhibe également l’activité de la phosphatidylcholine-PLD et induit la mobilisation du Ca2+ et l’activation de la PLA2 dans les plaquettes humaines. Le sulfate de néomycine inhibe la dégradation de l’ADN induite par la DNase I.
