Myo-Inositol is a growth factor for animals and microorganisms. It is the most abundant form of polyols that serves as a structural element of secondary messengers in eukaryotic cells. It is used as an adulterant in many illegal drugs like cocaine and methamphetamine. Further, it is used as a stand-in for cocaine on television and film.

Applications
Le myo-inositol est un facteur de croissance pour les animaux et les micro-organismes. C’est la forme la plus abondante de polyols qui sert d’élément structurel des messagers secondaires dans les cellules eucaryotes. Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau. Légèrement soluble dans l’éthanol, le diméthylsulfoxyde et l’alcool. Insoluble dans l’éther.
