Description

L-Phenylalaninol acts as an antiulcer agent that reduces the secretion of gastric acid and prevents ulcer formation. It inhibits intestinal absorption of L-phenylalanine making it a prospective treatment for phenylketonuria. Further, it reacts with nitriles to form oxazolines, which finds application in palladium-catalyzed allylic substitution. In addition to this, it is also used in amidation for chiral resolution and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide modeling.

Applications
Le L-phénylalaninol agit à l’instar d’un agent anti-ulcéreux en réduisant la sécrétion d’acide gastrique et en prévenant la formation d’ulcères. Il inhibe l’absorption intestinale de la L-phénylalanine, ce qui en fait un traitement prospectif de la phénylcétonurie. En outre, il réagit avec les nitriles pour former des oxazolines, et trouve une application dans la substitution allylique catalysée par du palladium. Par ailleurs, il est également utilisé dans l’amidation pour la résolution chirale et la modélisation du nicotinamide adénine dinucléotide (NAD).

Solubilité
