Description

Hexamethyldisiloxane is used as a solvent in organic reactions. It finds application as an international standard for 1H NMR spectroscopy for calibrating chemical shift. Further, it is used in liquid bandages to protect skin from irritation. In addition, it is used to measure tissue oxygen tension as a receptor molecule. It is also used to make low-k dielectric materials for the semi-conductor industries by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition(PECVD) method.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.

Applications
L’hexaméthyldisiloxane est utilisé comme solvant dans les réactions organiques. Il trouve une application comme étalon international pour la spectroscopie RMN 1H pour l’étalonnage du décalage chimique. De plus, il est utilisé dans les bandages liquides pour protéger la peau contre les irritations. Par ailleurs, il est utilisé pour mesurer la tension de l’oxygène dans les tissus en tant que molécule réceptrice. Il est également utilisé afin de fabriquer des matériaux diélectriques de faible constante diélectrique dits low-k par la méthode de dépôt de vapeur chimique assisté par plasma (PEDVG).

Solubilité
Légèrement miscible avec de l’eau.

Remarques
Hygroscopique. Gardez le récipient hermétiquement fermé dans un endroit sec et bien ventilé. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts, les acides, les bases et l’oxygène.
