Description
2-(2-Bromoethyl)-1,3-dioxane, Provides a useful means of introducing a masked β-formylethyl group. In comparison with the corresponding dioxolane (following entry), the dioxane is more stable to acid, and the Grignard is thermally stable. Reaction of the Grignard with an acid chloride gives the ketone in high yield without further reaction to the tertiary alcohol. Subsequent hydrolysis of the 1,3-dioxane gives the -ketoaldehyde. It is also used as a pharmaceutical intermediate.

2-(2-bromoéthyl)-1,3-dioxane, Fournit un moyen utile d’introduire un groupe de ß-formyléthyl masqué. Par rapport au dioxolane correspondant (entrée suivante), le dioxane est plus stable à l’acide et le Grignard est thermiquement stable. La réaction du Grignard avec un chlorure d’acide donne à la cétone un rendement élevé sans autre réaction à l’alcool tertiaire. L’hydrolyse subséquente du 1,3-dioxane donne le-cétoaldéhyde. Il est également utilisé comme intermédiaire pharmaceutique.
Solubilité
Il n’est pas soluble dans l’eau mais dans un solvant organique tel que l’éthanol.
Remarques
Sensible à l’air, à la chaleur. Stockez-le dans un endroit frais. Garder le récipient bien fermé dans un endroit sec et bien ventilé. Tenir à l’écart des agents oxydants forts. Stable dans les conditions de stockage recommandées.
